Unspoiled, Unhurried, Unclothed, Unforgettable – the ultimate Caribbean hideaway! Sorobon Beach resort is a delightful naturist retreat on the natural paradise of Bonaire Island in the Netherlands Antilles. With just 30 nicely appointed chalets under Dutch ownership and management, the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. Apart from the 17 staff, the Sorobon family also includes numerous sugarbirds (put a bowl of sugary water on your terrace and make firm friends with them) and a wonderful family of iguanas.

Location

Situated on its own white sandy beach and protected by a vibrant coral reef full of colourful sealife, Sorobon Beach resort is located in the south east corner of Bonaire. The island itself, on the Netherlands Antilles islands, lies 80km north of Venezuela, outside the hurricane belt. Trade winds temper the heat and the water temperature is a delicious 28°C (82°F) . With an average temperature of 29°C (85°F), you’ll find that the many fine beaches are particularly inviting and the whole island is surrounded by coral reefs making it a divers’ paradise. The beauty of the colourful underwater world is absolutely breathtaking with over 350 species of fish, though strictly enforced local laws protect these natural wonders; no anchoring, no spearfishing, even touching the coral is forbidden.

Wildlife and Ecology

With a protected ecological environment, one fifth of Bonaire is a national park, home to numerous species of wildlife. The island is one of the few remaining breeding grounds for the gracious and shy flamingos. Their name and bright pink colour are used as corporate identity by many island businesses including Flamingo Airport, appropriately the gateway to Bonaire. There is a flamingo sanctuary, and wild donkeys and goats freely roam the countryside.

The Beach

The Sorobon Beach Resort fronts its private 200m section of the Sorobon Beach. It faces a shallow tropical lagoon (Cai Lac) backed by mangroves and protected by a coral reef 800m out. Conch shells are part of the scenery. Two pontoons are moored in the bay for rests during snorkelling sessions or just for sunbathing and they are always occupied: when there are no humans about, the crabs take advantage! Plenty of shelters made of palm tree branches are equipped with sunloungers. A shower (cold) is nearby. The beach is spotless. Kayaks are available free.

Naturism at Sorobon Beach

Sorobon Beach Resort in Bonaire offers a unique opportunity for nude living, with chalets just metres from the Caribbean waters on one of the most unspoilt islands in the world. Although some people may choose to dress in the evening, Sorobon Beach is a completely clothes-free environment, so, instead of clothes, pack your suitcase with books and relax.
