Location
Breezes Grand Negril is situated on the southwest corner of Jamaica, 55 miles (a one hour drive) from Montego Bay airport, in 22 acres of beautifully manicured gardens.
The Beach
Negril Beach is one of the world’s most acclaimed – 7 miles of fine silver-white sand lapped by warm, gentle turquoise waters. It is a textile beach. At Breezes Grand Negril, the Cove is a tiny bay dedicated to naturists. Right by the Cove among the nude accommodation, is the clothing optional, bar and grill. The watersports facilities and activities are all situated on the main (textile) beach.
Naturism at Breezes Grand Negril
Breezes Grand Negril welcomes both naturist and textile clientele. Naturists have their own area, the Cove, with its own accommodations, private naturist beach, pool, grill and bar. Guests in this part of the resort may remain nude day and night but clothes are required to use the central facilities – reception, restaurants, spa, shop etc.
Food & Drink
The super-all-inclusive plan means that all meals, snacks and drinks are included, even tipping is prohibited. Premium cocktails and exotic tropical concoctions as well as traditional wines, spirits, soft drinks and fresh aromatic Jamaican coffee flow freely day and night from many bars and serviced points situated around the grounds and dining establishments. Lavish breakfast and lunch buffets are served in the resort’s central Gran Terrazza. Gran Terrazza also hosts the extravagant weekly Caribbean Beach Carnival Night, on the beach and the General Manager’s spectacular Grand Gala held once each week. Of an evening, Piacere is a fine dining experience – formal French elegance in a luxurious candlelit setting whilst Munasan is typically oriental in style serving dishes such as sushi and teppanyaki. La Pasta serves Italian food, trattoria style from mid afternoon, Reggae Café Rastaurant is open for lunch and offers authentic spicy Jamaican cuisine in rustic surroundings and the Grand Café is a continental restaurant for the evening. The evening is the best time to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail and fine wine with dinner. Premium cocktails and exotic tropical concoctions as well as traditional wines, spirits and soft drinks are readily available from many bars situated around the grounds and dining establishments. A dress code applies to all restaurants – no shorts are permitted in Grand Cafe and Munasan whereas at Piacere, dress is altogether more formal and strictly smart.
Facilities
The Cove (clothing optional) section has a swimming pool and Jacuzzi with bar, grill, terrace chess and of course the private naturist beach. On the textile side, there’s a further beachside swimming pool, four more Jacuzzis, five more bars and six restaurants. Spa facilities at chic Blue Mahoe Spa are excellent – there are a wide range of first class (payable) treatments and massage available with complimentary use of the sauna, steam room and plunge pool. The resort also has a fitness centre, four tennis courts (two lit at night for cooler play), table tennis tables, pool table, an internet café plus a boutique and gift shop.
Activities
Watersports are available off the main gently shelving beach – windsurfing, sunfish sailing, water skiing, snorkelling, glass bottom boat rides, scuba diving including daily dives for beginners. The PADI centre offers a resort based course with certification for an additional cost. The resident tennis pro organizes lessons and tournaments (including on lit courts in the cooler night-time).
Entertainment
The weekly Caribbean Beach Carnival and the General Manager’s Grand Gala which is also held once a week are the highlights of the entertainment with shows, live music and dancing. The Piano Bar has a resident pianist performing romantic melodies every evening.
