Euronat

This vast naturist park offers excellent accommodation in a spacious and natural setting. It is a well established naturist centre with a first-rate reputation. The beach is magnificent and there is a proper resort atmosphere which is not spoiled by overcrowding.

Location

Situated in the south-west of France on the Bay of Biscay, 97km north of Bordeaux in the Médoc region, Euronat is built in extensive grounds among pine trees and backed by endless vineyards. This region produces many excellent local wines with the wine villages of St Estephe and Margaux, and the vineyards of Château Lafite and Château Mouton-Rothschild just a short drive across the headland. The Gulf Stream flows along this coast providing a mild climate.

The Beach

An almost endless sandy beach of 2.5km is reserved for nude swimming and sunbathing. At times, the Atlantic produces waves several feet high, turning the beach into a surfers’ paradise. There are strong currents and lifeguards are on duty from mid June until mid September, and there is a first-aid post.

Naturism at Euronat

In Euronat nudity is obligatory, weather permitting and certainly in and around the pool area. Most holidaymakers remain nude throughout the day and dine outdoors au naturel.

Facilities

The village square, the hub of the resort comprises three supermarkets, four restaurants and a snack bar, a take-away (French-style), butcher, bakery, fishmonger, off licence, boutique, bank, launderette, newsagent, bicycle hire, amusement arcade, and also a sports shop and direct-dial public telephones. Euronat is one of the few naturist centres in Europe to have an indoor heated swimming pool; measuring 10m by 12m it has become one of the main attractions. There is also an open air fun pool with water slide. Euronat has a purpose-built health centre with qualified staff offering sauna, relaxation massage, muscle toning, gymnastics, aerobics and hydrotherapy facilities as well as Jacuzzi with seaweed extract, hydro-massage with sea water, algotherapy, clay masks and high pressure jet showers. A resident doctor prescribes individual courses of ‘Figure and Nature’ treatment packages. A free kindergarten operates in July and August for children aged 3 to 7 years.

Activities

Various sports activities include tennis, volleyball, riding, archery, boules, mini-golf, table tennis, football, judo and basketball. There are also handicraft workshops.

Entertainment

Various sports competitions are held from time to time, as are party nights with audience participation and barbecues. During July and August concerts, shows and dancing evenings are held in the hall and (mainly) French language films are also shown. There are restaurants and wine bars in the vicinity, outside the grounds.
