Sights & Excursions

Whilst there are no organised excursions, the area holds a variety of interests.

Languedoc-Roussillon region - Extending from the Mediterranean to the Pyrenees, with Extending from the Mediterranean to the Pyrenees, with colourful vineyards and orchards, the landscape is dotted with old towns and villages, places of pilgrimage, monasteries and churches. Local produce includes wine, peaches, almonds, fish, oysters and mussels.

Narbonne and Perpignan - These two towns are of historic interest.

Carcassonne - This picture book pretty, fortified medieval town with moat, drawbridges, ramparts, a castle and the 11C church of St Nazaire put you in a time warp.

Safari Park - A visit to the nearby Safari Park at Sigean will long be remembered. Covering over 510 acres, you can take an eye-opening 6km drive to see many of the 150 or more species of animals settled there.

Shopping- The duty-free Principality of Andorra and the Sunday market at Rosas (Spain) are shoppers’ paradises (passport required).
