Vera
About 10km away the inland town of Vera is transformed on Saturday mornings when most of the town centre becomes an open air market, selling practically anything.

Garrucha
This is the nearest town, about 5km away, and is a little fishing port with interesting fish and street markets.

Mojacar
The picturesque village of Mojacar with its flower-decked white houses overlooking the Mediterranean is about 16km away and dates back some 5,000 years.

Mini-Hollywood
consists of two Wild West towns purpose-built for filming Purpose-built for filming Spaghetti westerns, including The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, these two wild-west style towns also have a sizeable zoo. Other local film productions include Lawrence of Arabia, Treaure Island and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Granada
Granada is one of Spain’s most beautiful and interesting ancient cities. Must-see’s include the 14C Alhambra Palace, home of the Nasrid Sultans, the last Islamic sultanate in the lberian Peninsula, the Cathedral, where the Catholic monarchs Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella of Castille are buried, and the Generalife, the former rural residence of the emirs who ruled this part of Spain in the 13C and 14C.
